K2N for community

We believe the solutions to the world’s problems lie in sacrificing ourselves to improve life for others.

ACCOMPLISH GOOD IN TANZANIA

In 2017 we founded K2N to fund community development.

In 2019 we started nonprofit Red Knot Development to scale our work in rural livelihoods, children’s sport, and wildlife conservation.

Red Knot exists to accomplish good in Tanzania.

We proudly put 50% of all K2N profits directly into community development and wildlife conservation in Tanzania.

We’d like to encourage you to make your festival participation more meaningful.

Accomplish good by assisting us to raise funds for our community projects.

2024 COMMUNITY Projects

Children’s Running Clubs

Red Knot Tanzania is facilitating the creation of youth running clubs throughout Tanzania in order to improve children’s lives. Our aim is for youth to be healthy, motivated, dedicated, and to have the support they need. We accomplish this through runningclubs which focus on exercise and relevant life skills.

We have been instrumental in the formation of more than 80 running clubs in Tanzania, and have been heavily involved in producing a new curriculum that will be used in 6 African countries.

USD $40 will fund one child to join a running club for the full 6-month program.

Demonstration and Teaching Farm

In partnership with One World Sustainable Livelihoods, Red Knot Tanzania manages a demonstration farm in Olasiti. We teach on a variety of subjects relevant to local farmers: conservation agriculture, organic vegetable production, fish farming, stingless bees care, poultry raising, composting and integrated pest management.

Participants in our rural food security and livelihoods projects travel to Arusha to receive agricultural education on the farm, and it is also open to the public.

USD $15 will provide one farmer with a 2-day agricultural training.

Local Cycling Team

Red Knot Tanzania is dedicated to nurturing the talents of aspiring local cyclists, providing them with the opportunity to compete at both the national and international levels. Our mission is to empower young cyclists, fostering their growth and development within the sport.

The team is coached and mentored by Red Knot staff member Richard Laizer, who raced professionally in South Africa and Europe before returning to Tanzania to invest in local talent.

USD $70 will fund one month of training, bicycle maintenance, race entries and travel costs for one cyclist.

Wildlife Conservation

Grumeti Fund is a non-profit organization carrying out wildlife conservation and community development work in the western corridor of the Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania. Grumeti Fund is actively involved in preserving 350,000 acres of Serengeti wilderness.

Funds raised will go to Grumeti Fund’s rhino reestablishment project, in collaboration with Tanzanian government partners, in order to ensure the future of these critically endangered animals.
